Getting Started

The fastest way in is your watch. Install the app, pick a couple of learning areas, and press play—no account and no credit card needed. Create a free account later to unlock more courses and keep your progress.

Start on your watch in 3 steps

  1. Install EduJog from the Garmin Connect IQ Store.
  2. Choose your learning areas in the app—these are the topics your playlist is built from.
  3. Sync and press play. Your episodes download to the watch and you're listening. Without an account you get the first course of each curriculum for free.

Step-by-step screenshots for each of these are in the On Your Garmin section below.

Do more with a free account

When you're ready, create a free account and activate your watch (a quick 6-digit code). Anything you already picked on the watch carries over automatically. A free account unlocks:

  • More content — the first two courses of every curriculum, in full.
  • Quizzes to test yourself after each episode.
  • A learning-analytics dashboard that tracks your progress.
  • The Playlist Builder to mix in your own podcasts.
  • Your progress synced between the watch and the website.

Each of those is walked through with screenshots further down, under Free Account & Premium.

On Your Garmin

Here's the full flow on the watch, from installing the app to listening. The look may differ slightly depending on your device.

  1. 1. Install the App

Download the EduJog app from the Garmin Connect IQ Store. To open it, press and hold the watch's down button for two seconds (set EduJog as your music provider first if you use another one).

  2. 2. Choose Your Learning Areas

In the EduJog app, open Learning Areas and pick the topics you want to learn about. Your playlist is built from these. You can change them anytime—no account needed yet.

Scroll the list and select every area you're interested in. A tick marks the ones you've chosen; selecting more areas means more episodes to choose from.

  3. 3. Sync & Listen — No Account Required

You have everything you need to start listening. Without an account you get the first course of each curriculum for free—plenty to try it on your next run.

From the main menu, choose Synchronize. The watch connects over WiFi and downloads your episodes; this takes a few minutes the first time.

The watch confirms as soon as the code is accepted. The learning areas you already picked carry over automatically—you won't lose your selection, and your first account sync begins on its own (on the latest app version there's nothing to tap). You can start a sync anytime with Synchronize.

After your workout, run Synchronize again to send your listening progress back to your account—we recommend doing this after each session. Some Garmin devices also sync automatically while charging.

Free Account & Premium

You can listen without an account. An account unlocks more content and the web features; Premium opens everything.

Choose courses on the web

The watch keeps things simple with learning areas. On the website you can go a level deeper: open a learning area to see its curricula, open a curriculum to see its individual courses, and subscribe to exactly the ones you want. Whatever you pick here shows up on your watch at the next sync.

Test yourself with quizzes

Every episode has a matching quiz. Answering questions after a run is what turns something you heard into something you remember—and each correct answer earns XP that feeds your learning score.

Track your progress

Your dashboard collects listening and quiz results into one picture: minutes this week, your current streak, quiz accuracy, how far you've got in each course, and which topics have faded enough to be worth revisiting.

Listen on the web too

You don't need the watch to listen. The same playlist plays in the browser, and your position carries over—start an episode at your desk, finish it on your next run.

Playlist Builder

With a free account, the Playlist Builder lets you control exactly what goes into your listening queue: mix EduJog courses with your own podcast feeds and decide the order and how many episodes of each to include. The same combined playlist is used on the website and when you sync to your Garmin device.

  1. 1. Understand Segments

Your playlist is built from segments, in order from top to bottom:

    • EduJog learning areas — One block that pulls episodes from the courses tied to your learning areas. You can change how many EduJog episodes appear in that block.
    • Podcast segments — Each is one RSS feed (e.g. a news podcast or any podcast you add by URL). You can have multiple podcast segments, each with its own settings.

Use the up/down arrows next to each segment to change the play order. The segment at the top is what you hear first.

  2. 2. Edit a Podcast Segment

Click the Edit (gear) button on a podcast segment to expand its options:

    • Episodes — How many episodes from that feed to include (e.g. 5 or 10).
    • Order — Newest first or oldest first. For news podcasts, newest first is usually what you want.
    • Replace incomplete with newer episodes — For daily or news-style podcasts: if you haven’t finished an episode and a newer one is available, the playlist will prefer the newer one instead of keeping the half-played one. Turn this on so your queue stays up to date.
    • Continue into older episodes — When the newest window is exhausted, fill from older episodes. Useful for feeds you listen to regularly.

Two more buttons sit alongside the gear. Details (list) opens the feed's episodes, so you can see exactly what is queued up and refresh the feed if the podcast has published something new.

The X button removes that feed from your playlist only; the feed stays in “Other podcasts” so you can add it again later.

  3. 3. Add Your Own Podcasts

Below the segments list you’ll see Other podcasts: feeds you’ve added by URL but haven’t put in the playlist yet. Think of it as your library—a feed can sit here without affecting what you hear.

Click Add podcast and paste the feed’s RSS URL. Most podcast websites link theirs somewhere on the page; any standard RSS feed works.

Add podcast dialog with the RSS URL field
    Paste the feed’s RSS URL

Once the feed appears under “Other podcasts”, press the + button to promote it to a segment—then edit that segment to set how many episodes and the order. Use Delete (bin) only if you want to remove the feed entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can install the app, choose learning areas, sync, and listen without an account—you get the first course of each curriculum for free. A free account unlocks more courses, quizzes, analytics, the Playlist Builder, and syncs your progress between the watch and the web. Anything you picked on the watch before signing up carries over when you activate.

Press and hold the down button for 2 seconds and EduJog will open.

If you have a different music provider activated, go to watch settings and select Music Providers, then choose EduJog as your preferred provider. Next time you hold the down button for 2 seconds, EduJog will open.

First step: restart your watch. If the EduJog app on your Garmin does not work as expected—sync fails, buttons don’t respond, downloads fail, or you see a network error even though everything seems connected—try restarting the watch. In most cases this fixes issues with the WiFi connection or the watch’s system interacting with the EduJog app.

If problems continue after a restart:

  • Failed or canceled previous sync: A failed or canceled sync can sometimes leave the app in a bad state; a watch restart often resolves it.
  • WiFi setup issues: Check the Garmin documentation for how to set up the WiFi connection on your device.
  • WiFi connection problems: There may be a temporary problem with the WiFi connection itself.

If the problem persists after restarting and checking WiFi, consult the Garmin documentation for WiFi configuration or contact us at info@edujog.com.

If you're running out of episodes during your workouts, there are two things you can do:

  • Increase the number of episodes: In your EduJog app settings, you can choose to download 20 or even 30 episodes instead of the default number.
  • Add more learning areas or courses: The more learning areas you pick (or courses you subscribe to on the web), the more episodes are available in your playlist.

Please make sure your watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth—this data loads through the Garmin Connect app on your phone, not directly over WiFi.

Your selection should carry over automatically when you activate. If the watch still shows nothing selected, open Learning Areas in the app, pick your topics again, and run Synchronize. If it keeps happening, restart the watch and try once more, or contact us at info@edujog.com.
